For the 2018 model year, the VW Jetta received minor changes to trim level offerings including new Wolfsburg and SE Sport trim levels. The 2018 Jetta also received a standard Volkswagen People First Warranty. Other than that, however, the 2018 Jetta remained largely the same as past models offering competitive interior space and classic Volkswagen style.

What’s New for 2019
“The Jetta is such an iconic product. We wanted to come up with something totally new. It was essential to give this product more prestige, more sportiness, a totally new proportion,” said Klaus Bischoff, Head of Volkswagen Design.

In terms of design, the largest change to the 2019 Volkswagen Jetta is a change to the MQB platform that allows for adjustments in exterior proportions and interior space. The 2019 Jetta has a more contoured and sporty exterior design and even more roominess than Jettas of the past. Inside, aside from an increase in overall space, the 2019 Jetta is also getting some serious updates including available features like Volkswagen Digital Cockpit, a BeatsAudio system, a full menu of active safety, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Car shoppers looking for the classic feel of Jettas of the past may prefer the minimalist design on the inside and outside of the 2018 Volkswagen Jetta. Car shoppers interested in a sportier ride with modern connectivity features may want to stick around for the upcoming 2019 Volkswagen Jetta release.
